Liverpool learn fate of Curtis Jones red card appeal
Liverpool have confirmed that their appeal to overturn Curtis Jones' red card in the defeat to Tottenham Hotspur was unsuccessful. Jones was sent off in the first half of Liverpool's eventual, extremely controversial, 2-1 defeat at the hands of Tottenham on Saturday. Following a VAR check, Jones' reckless challenge which contorted the bottom of Yves Bissouma's leg to near breaking point was deemed worthy of a red card by referee Simon Hooper. Despite the rashness of the challenge from Jones, Liverpool confirmed on Monday that they had launched an appeal to have the straight red card and three- Game ban which it resulted in rescinded.
