Leeds United lead the Pledgeball League after busy March of climate initiatives
Leeds United sit top of the Pledgeball League table after a March jam-packed with climate conscious action from fans up and down the football pyramid. The Whites enjoyed a hugely successful Green Football Weekend full of carbon pledges from their fans which has seen the club, in total so far this season, offset 852,868kg of carbon emissions. Hot on trail in the race of the Pledgeball League title are Manchester United and Charlton Athletic. Manchester United fans won the GFW Cup in February by scoring 17,545 green goals - 7,000 more than any other team - and offsetting 10,169kg carbon emissions. The key contributors to those numbers were St Catherine’s pupils Fatoumatta and Melina, who scored 3,363 green goals on their own. Charlton, on the other hand, have shot up the table in March thanks to their 'Greener Game s' against Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham City Women.
