Knicks vs Celtics Picks, Predictions & Odds Tonight - NBA
The Boston Celtics are off to a perfect 4-0 start at TD Garden and they’ll look to pad that record tonight when they host the New York Knicks, who enter as big underdogs in the latest NBA odds.
Coming off double-digit wins over the Brooklyn Nets and Toronto Raptors, the C's have moved to 7-2 and look every inch a title contender, even while still integrating Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis.
It’s been a more uneven first month in the Big Apple, but N.Y. moved above .500 with a 129-107 win over the Charlotte Hornets yesterday and didn’t have to play its starters for heavy minutes ahead of this quick turnaround.

Knicks vs Celtics predictions
With all of the offseason moves the Boston Celtics made, it’s easy to forget one of their biggest was agreeing to a supermax contract extension with Jaylen Brown for five years and $304M.
Entering the season, it was fair to wonder how Brown would adapt to Boston’s revamped starting five, and the early signs weren’t great... including a 4-for-11 effort in the season opener against these same Knicks.
But it looked like he turned a corner over the weekend with two vintage performances. Brown scored 28 points against the Nets and followed that up with 29 the next night to take down the Raptors. He shot 22-for-39 across those two outings and 8-for-17 from downtown.
Brown’s numbers are still down across the board compared to last season, though he’s trending up again and I see him staying hot tonight in a marquee matchup against the New York Knicks.
His two offensive duds this year have come on limited shots, but he’s been noticeably more aggressive over the last two weeks, taking 19 or more field goals in four of his last five contests. Plus, Brown has saved his best performances for TD Garden, where he’s shooting 53% from the field — up from 42% on the road. He’s averaging 25 points at home and making 44% of his 3-pointers.
The Knicks have the defenders to make the Boston wings work for their points, but one look at the Jaylen Brown odds for tonight and I'm happy to take the Over on his points.
My best bet: Jaylen Brown Over 22.5 points (-113 at FanDuel)

Knicks vs Celtics same-game parlay

Jaylen Brown Over 22.5 points
Julius Randle Ovr 19.5 points
Mitchell Robinson Over 9.5 rebounds
One of the biggest questions for the Knicks is whether Jalen Brunson can shake free from Jrue Holiday and Derrick White, the Celtics’ two-headed defensive monster in the backcourt. My guess is the relentless perimeter pressure forces more of the New York offense to flow through Julius Randle, so I’m adding his points prop for my SGP.
I’m also taking the Over on the Mitchell Robinson rebounds prop. He had nine boards in just 24 minutes yesterday and had piled up 12 or more rebounds in each of his prior four games.

Knicks vs Celtics spread and Over/Under analysis
These Boston-New York showdowns have served up some memorable, tight finishes in recent years, but the Celtics enter as 9-point favorites at some sportsbooks. While that might feel disrespectful to the Knicks, it also factors in the hosts being the fresher team after a day off yesterday.
Still, New York has won three in a row after a 2-4 start and the visitors shouldn’t be underestimated here after winning three of the past four meetings — including a pair of overtime victories in Boston last season.
The counterarguments are the Celtics have won three of their four home games this season by 14 points or more, and Jayson Tatum has already scored 30 or more five times this year.
As you might expect from a Tom Thibodeau team, the Knicks have peppered the Under this season and it’s 7-3 in their last 10 contests. The Under has also hit in Boston’s last three Games, with the Celtics allowing 107 points or fewer in each of those outings.
The season opener between these teams ended in a 108-104 win for Boston and that kind of total feels in play again here, making a line of 222.5 feel a little too high for two defensive juggernauts.
